Step 1 :- the grignard’s reagent is reacted with carbondioxide in the presence of dry ether. Which leads to the formation of an organometallic compound.
Step 2 :- the organometallic compound is treated with water in the presence of acid. Which leads to the formation of ethanoic acid . The whole reaction is shown below.
