Reimer-Tiemann Reaction.

It is the reaction that leads to the production of aromatic aldehydes mostly the ortho substituted ones.

It is a reaction that yields orthohydroxy (major product) and para hydroxy (minor product).

It basically a reaction between phenol and chloroform in the presence of aqueous sodium hydroxide.
